Are there any TVR events where I can get see the cars and hopefully talk to owners without having to join the owners club? And preferable north of London given I'm in the York area :-) Wollaston Hall in Nottingham would be ideal but having to join, and presumably wifey would too, makes it an expensive day. I'm looking for something where I can see a range of cars and ideally talk to some owners to validate what I'm thinking before buying.

Definitely. If you find the nearest local group on Facebook you should get a warm welcome as a prospective member, you certainly would in Wiltshire.

Any of the big shows held at Stately homes or similar are not fenced off, general public visiting the venue are free to wander amongst the cars.

£78 on top of the ticket is a lot to spend on an hour or two.

There won't be many people turning up to meets at this time of year in their cars.

The first big national event is on April the 6th at Wollaton Hall NG8 2AE if that's reachable. Otherwise fine the local meets near to you will be on the TVRclub website.

edit you don't need to be a member to turn up to a club event at least you'd not be turned away from any of the regions I've been to.

Just go, there’ll be parking nearby presumably and you can just walk in. You can walk in to pretty much any of the events. I’ve got a TVR and go and I’m not in the club. They’re all brill and love talking about the cars. As others say, there’s regional clubs who have monthly meets and you can just go along to them; they’re usually at a pub or other similar location.
