Just caught up on my planner and finished this, good quality acting and a decent script/plot but what a stinky ending. Talk about incomplete, all it did was line up for series 2. Pretty disappointed to be honest, I am not getting sucked into a Lost scenario again where viewers are played like a mug

Good but not great - we can be pretty sure it was not Noah that wot done it .....!Personally I simply loved Lost upto the final series when I think they "lost" the plot or more likely just ran out of ideas
I couldn't actually believe that was the series finale. I thought that it was a weird American series-break or something and the actual finale came later.
It was just bizarre.
What happened between episode 9 and 10?
What happened to Alison and Cole?
How did he get to France?
How/when did Vik get back with Helen?
What happened after Helen shut her parents in the panic room?
So many questions, completely un-answered. It was like they took a random mid-series episode that bore no resemblance to anything else and just stuck it on the end as a finale.
Juliette - waste of time as a character. Served no purpose throughout the whole series.
It's called the Affair - it's supposed to be about people having an affair. All we learnt in Series 3 was that the people having an affair broke up and went to therapy to find out the reasons why, then called it quits.
Loved S1 and S2 (to a lesser degree)
S3 - total disappointment.
Rant over.

I said to my wife that I was sure we'd missed an episode because the finale seemed detached from the previous episode. Very odd.It was just bizarre.

S3 did feel like it couldn't make up its mind about what it was trying to do. Having said that Showtime have renewed it for a 4th series...

Agree on all of that. Juliette was a tedious and pointless presence throughout, so to wrap the series with that bizarre episode and missing all the characters that we actually do give a damn about....It was just bizarre.

S1 did have a big jump in the finale episode, but it made some sense and linked back to the rest of the series.
Well we’ve just finished series 5 and watched all 5 series since Oct 19 ish.
Series 1 superb ditto series 2 enjoyed the rest too.
Given the time we are in now the finale was great so nice to have a happy ending after all.
One question with the graves of Helen her mum and her dad did anyone else notice the year of death for Helen and her mum being 2051 her mum 100 Helen being 79. Is there anything at all to be noted from it and reason in case we missed something.
Otherwise why select the same year for their death.
The flash dance was great then seeing a mid 80’s year old Noah giving the same moves on the cliffs in Montuk With the whole of the moon playing 5 stars.

I took it as a mini joke by the writers that Helen never escaped her mum, not sure if that is correct or not! Agree the ending was superb, I felt the series managed to pick up and get close the levels of S1 & S2 after the average third season. Series 1 superb ditto series 2 enjoyed the rest too.
