I may be a tad cynical, but I'm expecting it to end up being pretty much the same as all the other ones. Willing to be proven wrong though.

A franchise that has so much potential but delivers so little.

I loved the first one, the second was a bit crap, the third was OK.

I thought Jurassic world was fairly decent. It was really silly, but as something to watch it was definitely fun. I'm hoping the new one will be better still, but I doubt I'll head to the cinema to see it.

Caught a snippet on iTunes trailers the other night. Consisted of "RUN!".

Hope it is a good un. Some scripts ago, there was going to be a human dino hybrid......

This must be the one they filmed (at least part of) near me.

I'm not a fan of the whole 'Jurassic' franchise really, but really keen to see the difference between the small bits they actually built for sets, and what they digitally add in post production (aside from the dinosaurs, obviously).

Optimus Prime is in it too. Although he's incognito with a grey paint job.

On an MOD training area less than a mile from my house they built sets for a grand house, with stone stairs, a grand entrance door, a gravel drive and formal garden. Also a perimeter wall and fancy gates for the above. I missed filming but apparently plenty of supercars involved in "arrival for a party" scenes. A few hundred yards away was a "loading dock" set. Plenty of lorries/jeeps/etc on set too, including a 'semi-trailer' converted to carry dinosaurs. There was, though, a LOT of green screen around the small sections of set they actually built.

Further away, on the old NGTE (jet engine development) site near Fleet there were objections from the gentrified folk in the posh houses around Fleet Pond because of night filming, with a helicopter heavily involved.

I can't say I saw much filming, but the 'Walty' security guards were very funny with their threats to "set the dogs" on people hanging around outside their self-imposed perimeter fence. All except one security dude who was from my home town, and happy to chat about what was going on (no specifics though), as well as football, and what a state the town has become since we grew up. It turned out that we'd likely played Rugby against one-another at school.

The production company were a right bunch of Prima Donnas compared with the 'Overlord' crew who filmed scenes for their D-Day/Sci-Fi/Horror movie hybrid some time later. Completely unfenced sets, friendly security guards who seemed to be there only to protect their equipment from local do-as-you-likeys. I was annoyed that I didn't have a decent camera at the time. Well actually I had no camera at all then, and I still don't have a 'decent' one.

Lots of filming around here. The location scouts seem to like it because it's MOD land and they can close it off. We've had Bond films in Farnborough Airport, the Aldershot training areas, Hawley Woods, and now-demolished barracks in Aldershot playing grim Russian blocks of flats in Quantum of Solace. Other stuff too, from Sahara, to Rush, Criminal, Transformers, and Marvel stuff, etc, locally.

Let me guess, at first there'll be 'ooh!' and 'aah!' but later there'll be running, and screaming.

I must say, I really enjoy these films. And when that music starts, I know it’ll be a fun couple of hours.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re not the best films ever - I just really enjoy them smile

I still find the original has a certain magical charm that makes me want to watch it again from time to time. I'm not a fan of reboots but if a reboot could do to Jurassic Park what Star Trek did to the original films I'd be very excited.

Jurassic World left me cold, and we all know that's not good for dinosaurs.

It looks absolutely awful! Becoming more of a comedy now too!

Enjoyed the trailer, at the very least they appear to be taking it in a different direction.

Different direction?

You mean trying to remove dinosaurs from an abandoned theme park island? That’s the exact plot from JP2!!

I’m a massive JP fanboy, the original is still my favourite film and I actually really enjoyed Jurassic World, that was a different direction. Unless there’s a big swerve (and I guess there might be) then this looks pretty unimaginative (with added volcano)

The trailer isn’t even very good, I think Marvel have been spoiling us.

And volcanoes and pyroclastic flow - brilliant.

All we need now is Doug McClure!

I'll be watching for sure. Thought JW was great.

I remember seeing the original Jurassic Park in the cinema back in the day, it was stunning, even in our rubbish little ABC Cinema with 3 screens. smile

The cinema had sold too many tickets and people were literally sat in the aisle and on the steps. Bet no one complained though, what a film.

Indeed it is. Did you spot the US registered Bell 212 flying around during the shooting last Spring?

A lot of the film was shot on the old abandoned Pyestock National Gas Turbine Establishment site.
