Anybody else been watching this?

Doesn't seem as 'thriilling' as previous series but still engrossing all the same. Saying that if you try to top the previous series/too concerned with 'thrilling' and twists and turns you end up with plot holed Line of Duty.

Is it just me but there was a feeling it could be the end of the show?

I'm not sure why it couldn't come back. Tintin & Josephine seem to be in trouble but the judge could have his operation & return. The sprog will go to it's Dad & Laure & Gilou will agonise over that & their relationship.

They're filming the seventh, and supposedly final, series at the moment. I would hope for an early showing on BBC4, although I've heard 2019 is likely. Want to see Roban come back and kick Machard butt, and slimy Vern get his come-uppance.

Seemed to definitely be setup for another series.

Will the lovely Josephine go to prison, will Tintin come back, will Roban return to work... Loads to explore in another series, but I can live without Laure and Gilou sneaking snogs in the office loo... biggrin

I would agree with the comment, though, that this series seemed to lack a certain sparkle.

Maybe, but in the sea of mediocrity that is most TV these days it's still worth the effort. I can't get on with the French though, it's too quick & accented. I managed to follow a bit of Kristin Scott Thomas in Before the Winter Chill which I was inordinately pleased about.

This was the first series I'd watched - thought it was excellent & in the main much more believable than most cop shows. Lots of good plotting & there's no super-smart master criminal with unbelievable resources (frozen witnesses for example) & all the characters are fallible / human.

Maybe not quite the plot twists of I know who you are (Sé quién eres), which was the last really good cop show I watched but probably all the better for that.

Looks like the first 5 series used to be on netflix but aren't any more

Just finished the last two episodes! Wow! I actually recoiled in shock when someone did something (sorry, don't know how to do spoilers) and the storyline was really gritty throughout this. I've been a big fan since S1 and this was another great season imho.

Glad to hear it. It did seem the end was nigh and whether or not the Karlson and Tin-tin storyline would get resolved or not.

The major disappointments was the the swearing wasn't as coarse as in previous series and I really missed Gilou's "Pffffts"!

Watched the final episode last night as I was on holiday in France of all places over the weekend. I had seen one of the episodes when I was out in Le Mans in September but without the English subtitles!! It was a very entertaining series with a few twists in it. I have watched series now since it first started. I hope they do another series. For me it is the best French Police series on the box. I did watch Witnesses a few months ago but didn't think too much to it.

Yes, really enjoyed that!

Some great characters in there, especially Roban, who I had a lot of sympathy for. Hope he comes back in the next series.

Off topic, but I can recommend another french film (with Kristen Scott Thomas in it) called "Tell no One". Well worth a watch.

I do like Spiral (I think it struggled a bit in the first series, but really hit its stride after that, with the latest being the weakest, but still good).

My favourite French Police series, though, was Braquo - The first couple of series of that were amazing - Every episode ended on a cliffhanger and yet the way they resolved them were credible - It did drop off in the last series or two, but was still great, I thought.

If you've not seen it, give it a go.

As someone said on IMDB, it's like a French "The Shield", which is good with me as I thought that was one of the best US crime series.

Been watching this from series 1 - absolutely brilliant.

Was told that was the complete series end and felt that it was left conclusive with tin-tin hitting the bottle, red head karlson in the klink and laure going jogging, but now relieved that series 7 is probable.

Best thing on TV for a while and kept my social life on hold while I watched this every Saturday night.

As an aside that karlson could be a handful - just saying.......

Seconds for Grandad Gaz above with 'tell no one' being another gallic thriller. Could name a few more too. They all put the BBC offerings in the shade.
