Can anyone help me ID a piece of music please? The internet has so far not solved it for me. In Rick Stein’s latest output I noticed the same piece of (cello maybe?) music used twice. Once in episode one at about 19 mins while Le Crotoy is shown from the water, and also in the second episode where he introduces Alsace at the start.

I’m aware that a lot of music is created specifically for TV use (and that some of those creative people are on here!), but I was hoping that this was something mainstream that I could get my hands on. Any help gratefully received.

The credits mention Crocodile music, who seem to have done a few of his shows, but don’t have anything for the current series.

Thanks both. I’d assumed it was not bespoke for the program, but listening to some of the samples on Crocodile Music, it could well be something they’ve produced.

I’m not an old person yet, but I’ve been made to feel like one because I’ve never used Shazam hehe . I’ll give it a try.

I tried to Shazam it, but it wouldn't work as he's constantly talking over the music

Yes, the production company has used Crocodile since long back https://www.crocodilemusic.com/cd/27/

To me it makes for a better viewer experience than using "old favourite" clips from e.g. Faure's Requiem, Holst's Rig Veda etc.

OP, thank you for flagging that - the music didn't register when i watched the programme in real time, but now that you have mentioned it, it sounds like a fantastic piece. I wish I could say what it was - if you find out, please share, thank you.

Unzippy, many thanks for that - much appreciated. I shall enjoy listening to that as I enjoy a glass of wine or cold beer. beer
