Shaun the Sheep - movie genius
Discussion
I've just finished watching Shaun the Sheep - the Movie this morning & was staggered by the little details & references in it, most of which just pass by in an instant & wouldn't mean much to the vast majority of the audience.
When Shaun packs his messenger bag to go into the Big City it's got a Blue Peter badge on it.
When the bus is entering the Big City there's a sign saying "Twinned with Grand Veille & Cuidad Grande"
When Mr X is having his photo taken having become famous there's a tiny recreation of the famouse Christine Keeler picture taken on the Arne Jacobsen chair. I'm sure it's up for less than a second. 25 frames of brilliance.

Aardman worlds are wonderfully rich and always benefit from repeat watches.
I watched The Wrong Trousers again over Christmas and it's relentlessly brilliant.
You can feel the love they have for the art in everything they do. They inspired me to do animation when I was a kid and I've done a lot of it through my career, often putting subtle little jokes in the background that not everyone would see.

Was this on the box?
It was on BBC1 this morning. I caught the last 10 mins of it.

I fondly remember watching Aardmans, Grand Day Out, on a flight to the FE in the early 90's. Regular flights will entail watching all the repeated films, both ways, so I tried a different channel (for kids) and was crying with laughter in business class, much to the amusement of my fellow passengers!
They moved on from that 'simple' animation but the Shaun episodes, whilst more professional in their production, is just filled with brilliant humour, same as the early W&G.
Long may it continue.
