Well done Gervais! He stared them down and shoved the truth in their faces.

"So, well, you say you’re woke, but the companies you work for. I mean, unbelievable: Apple, Amazon, Disney. If Isis started a streaming service, you’d call your agent, wouldn’t you? So if you do win an award tonight, please don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and fk off."

I enjoyed his monologue this year - I though it was brilliant.

I believe I read somewhere that this year was going to be his last as it was - I recall he mentioned he'd had enough iirc. Perhaps, that's why this one was so matter of fact?

I don't have any interest in any of these circle jerk award ceremonies apart from this one. And that's only when Gravis is doing it.

You never know they may learn that's the reason it does do well. If only they put that lesson into making films and TV shows and stop being woke and all virtuous and just make stuff people want to watch.

Absolutely brilliant. I’ve hated a lot of what he does, but can’t deny the blokes got a talent.

That’s the whole thing: he’s already stated that he never wants to do it again, so it was somewhat tongue-in-cheek messing about as to how far he could ‘push’ it knowing that they won’t sack him from something he doesn’t want to do again.

It's not just this year,he's always does it, check out you tube. And he always says he won't do it again presumably to get more money next year.

Never been a fan of his but that was just brilliant, he's gone from zero to hero in my book.
