As one of the Detectives said ,if he had just left it after killing Peter and not the lady 2 years later ,he'd have got away with it.

No, he was smart bd who nearly got away with murder but for the fact his victim kept a detailed dairy, but you are right,
Peter was a much loved, respected and maybe lonely man who didn't deserve to end his life is such a tawdry way.

Was all of the footage real? It feels a bit odd that channel 4 would have their team filming the work of the police and interviews with witnesses over the course of months / years on a case with a small chance of conviction. I presume this isn't a regular occurrence.

I'm probably missing something (i.e. it's reconstructed or the police filmed everything for evidence).

There were the odd elements unresolved

What happened with Mrs Zeitl and her will he was creating? - she seemed as sharp as a tack

Why would they go asking the ex girlfriend questions so early on???? she could have tipped him off. So much evidence could have been destroyed if he got wind of it. Was she under an NDA? Would the Police risk it regardless??

Eeeek, did I see 24 days for the jury to reach a decision ?

Bugger me, must be a record for jury dithering, what the eff was the problem,
does the english system demand a unanimous decision ?
