I was flicking through the films on NowTV and saw Airplane!

For me, it's the greatest comedy film of all time and i'm pretty sure the radio conversation during take-off is the first film scene that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe.

But I can't remember how old I was and I'm trying to gauge when to introduce our 9 year old boy to it. it. What do you think - too soon? Is it going to hold the attention of a kid who's experience of TV is primarily morons endlessly yelling "OH MY GOD" on YouTube?

What are your good and bad experiences of introducing kids to great films?

Not a film, but we were watching some early episodes of Benidorm on Prime a few weeks ago and didn't realise our 8 year old had become engrossed in it! She was doing something else and then all of a sudden was just staring intently at the screen! I put her to bed a week or so later and she asked if she could watch an episode before she went to sleep. Soon put some controls on what she could access after that!

Believe me, Your Son will have heard, seen and spoken much worse things at school than most films will have in them !

That, and the xbox games that he and his mates will be playing when doors are shut !

I think Airplaine's pretty harmless on that front. I was thinking more about catching the richness of some of the comedy, particularly the word-play.

A hospital! What is it? biggrin
