Going to see this next week hopefully:-

If it's half as good as the classic 1941 film "The Tower of Terror" about a mad lonely lighthouse keeper should be well worth seeing.

I desperately want to see it but it looks like it has a very limited release, Vue only showing 5 venues, 4 in London and 1 in Dublin frown

Well, finally got to see it today, shot in monochrome, you will either love or hate it.

Very very off beat, see it if you get the chance.

Makes Eraserhead look like Toy story.

Didn't love it or hate it.
Liked that it was something a bit different, and the cinematography/atmosphere was excellent, but it was as if it was trading on that at the expense of the story which was lacking. Some great moments though.

I went to see it last week, quite an experience.

It was certainly well made, acted brilliantly and the cinematography was gorgeous. Anything a bit different reaching UK cinemas will always get the thumbs up from me.

I'd never watch it again though!

not a laff riot that's for sure, but nice to know that amid the comic book heroes blockbusters and gross-out comedies serious films can still be made.

which brings us to the quiz of the week [ from Norwich natch ] ,

full length cinema films with a total cast of only two, or less actors ?.

Moon
Sleuth
Hell in the Pacific

I think there's an old silent film with only one actor in it, one of Eric von Stroheim's?

Main cast or all cast according to IMDb etc? The Lighthouse does have other people in the film at certain points.

Buried. Ryan Reynolds is the only on screen cast, anyone else in the film is a voice.

The Lighthouse was great, I think I posted in the films I watched this week thread, but much respect for Willem Dafoe's long speeches.

Finally managed to find this online.

Wow. I'm glad I watched it. And it looks and sounds incredible. Genuine goosebumps at the end much like The Ring. Sort of.

Dafoe is excellent. As you can tell I'm not sure quite what to make of it. I think I enjoyed it.

It's certainly not for everyone though!

I agree with Wacky Racer
