A film about the two great 24 Hour races - held back to back in 2019.
Just the first 5 mins looks excellent. Not sure why there hasn’t been more mention on the site.A film about the two great 24 Hour races - held back to back in 2019.
Watched it the other week.
Pretty good and well worth a watch if you are a car person - not so good if you are not. Using the wife as a barometer:
Good - Rush/Le Mans '66/F1 Drive To Survive/Grand Prix Driver
OK - Truth in 24/Ford's return to Le Mans
A bit dull - Porsche Endurance
The camera work was good, plus the contrasts between the LM24 and N24 are apparent. Still hammers home the brutality of endurance racing - one mistake and the whole team may as well have stayed at home. It wasn't maybe as polished as the Audi efforts and tried to get the story going for the non-car people, but a lot of it boiled down to racing with a bit of talking head.
I still felt Porsche missed a trick with not doing a "Truth in 24-a-like" LM/919/Tribute video - no doubt they have a lot of the material for it and there are snippets on the Porsche YouTube channel (especially on the Tribute car), but no 1-2 hour long film that I know of.
