Has anyone else picked up 'Dick Barton Special Agent', which now seems to be on every evening (two x 15 minute back-to-back slots ....) on Talking Pictures?

Clearly it is ex-'Southern TV', but when was it first published ? And why was it peopled by actors who rarely went on to bigger and more glamorous things ?

My Father used to tell me about Dick Barton.

Apparently it was a post war, daily radio show.

If I remember correctly it was made in the early 80's. There was a similar programme starring Glynis Barber as "Jane" which held my attention much more...

I remember this from possibly the very early 80s. Animation of sorts and each episode was possibly fifteen mins. Pre WW2 story lines and not as fun as Jane.

I watched a few episodes but it really didn't match up to my rose tinted memory.

I kind of wish I hadn't watched.

I'm sure as I recall it as a radio show in the mid/late 80's although I'm sure they were all rebroadcasts of stuff made in the 50's or earlier.
