First trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6RgaCsNVAA

I hope they can explain how the barbershop oldies are still alive?

I'm turning a blind eye to any continuity. It wouldn't be right if they weren't in it. biggrin

You're right - I think you have to with a movie like this. smile

Hope the sequel is as enjoyable as the 15 rated original and not toned down.

Forget the barbers I'm thinking more of how and when did Akeem knock someone up the first time he was in NYC so now he has to go back there.

Someone I worked with came back from the barber's with what only can be described as a Soul Glo haircut. We had a lot of fun!

Who pretended he was a prince to get with the ladies?

I watched both trailers back to back. The first one I thought yeah, I'm up for this.

The second one? Well if they don't have paint drying on BBC 4 in March I'll guess I'll watch this.

I'll be watching it, but like any classic 80's/90's film they are of their time.

As brilliant as C2A was, that type of humour doesn't necessarily travel the decades well to todays type of humour. I think for a classic film to always be loved, you have to have first watched it originally when it was first released. That way the film stays with you all your life. Someone watching C2A today for the very fist time might not find it quite so good as if they watched it originally.

On the whole I like those kind of films, som Im expecting to like C2A2 as well, but only because I watched those kind of films originally.

I disagree. I rewatched C2A this week. Loved it and still very relevant. Over the years I've seen the butchered dubbed swear word version, the bleeped version etc.

Samuel L Jackson 'forget you'!

I hope what was in the trailer is still in the cut film. Otherwise it'll be bland.

But that's precisely my point, you sound like you may have seen it years ago and have recently rewatched it. I'm talking about todays youngsters watching these films now for the first time.

I was generalising over that era of film. My point being that to always love a film you sometimes have to have seen it when to was originally released. As an example, I love Gremlins, having watched it when it was released, but I don't think I would love it now if seeing it for the first time. The acting and style of film making in a lot of the 80's films leaves a lot to be desired compared to todays style.

Jaws may be one of the exceptions, but then I wouldn't know as I saw it back in its day so it will always be one of my favourite films. But with its obvious (by todays standards) rubber shark, would my 14yr old son love it just as much if he saw it today? I'd like to think so, but who knows.

The first trailer made it look like a worthwhile sequel, the second just shows it up for the turd it obviously is.

Just shows the difference the right edits can make.

I think we all know this is going to be as bad as Bill and Ted Face the Music. I don't have Prime but I am sure I will end up finding a copy and watching it anyway.
