Tom Allen Goes to Town

Pretty good so far but not as funny as the Mark Steel ‘inspiration’ on Radio 4. But as a good middle class PHer, I would say that wouldn’t I. Although I may be swayed as M. Steel did a very funny show on my home town, Whitehaven.

Went to a Mark Steel recording a few years back, was a good evening.

Didn’t bother watching Tom Allen.

It was ok and raised the odd titter, I don't mind Tom Allen.
Wakey is just up the road from us, I wonder how interesting it'd be with other towns.

Gave up after 5 minutes, it wasn’t for me.
I like Tom Allen as a stand up but I don’t find his other TV stuff very engaging.
I saw him support Josie Long and booked him for one of my places just before he became ‘Tom Allen’

So am I the only person who has never heard of him then? Seen the adverts for this on TV, but he just seemed another G. Norton. And one is enough.

He was on Graham Norton recently and the wife asked who he was. I explained he’s a comedian who can’t open his mouth without mentioning he’s gay. By the third time he’d opened his mouth she understood what I meant, it was painful viewing.

I used to quite like him when he first appeared on tv but after watching one of his stand up shows that's no longer the case.With fame has come laziness.....same old same old.....plus his voice now irritates the hell out of me,a bit like Alan Carr
