YouTube Comments?

I watch YT videos, and they're always talking about "The comments section, below." Only there never is a comments section below. What am I missing?

Not sure how much different the Android and IOS apps are; but iOS they’re under the video, in this screenshot you’d click where it says 911.

I have just checked YouTube app on my android phone and I can see comments.
Edit: my android app looks the same as the screenshot above.

The comments often don't load for me... they occasionally come back, but mostly not there.

I suspect it's my ad blocker (Ghostery) but not sure.

They show if I hold my tablet in portrait but not in landscape.

On a phone in portrait mode on the right side there will be a list of other videos,scroll to the bottom and the comments are there

I have no intention of spending any time in there, I just wondered why youtubers are always yacking on about it, but it didn't seem to actually exist.

I think it is just because lots of viewers are a bit dim and don't click on the subscriptions page so only watch what 'the alogrithm' suggests they watch.
