Dungeons and Dragons series?

Apparently there could be a D&D TV series in the offing (woot! woot!), as an aside it looks like Chris Pine may have been lassoed for a big screen D&D role (let's hope that this wipes out the Wayons effort from a few years back )

That in turn is based on the role playing game, which has spawned many things including many novels and computer games. It is odd that they have not joined the Netflix/Amazon Prime party far sooner. Based on how many interesting sci fi and fantasy series and films there have been over the past 5-7 years.

If this is true, I look forward to it very much. Would be cool if Drittz could make appearance, but I suspect that might be one wish too far.

truth be told there is so much source material ranging from Dragon Lance and Ravenloft to the Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk it seems to be just begging for the NetFlix/Amazon/Apple treatment

sadly I can't ever see the drow making an appearance on TV/film - sensitivities today just wouldn't allow it
