Anybody else just seen the intro for Ski Sunday?
Incredible footage from start to finish.
Even if you don't like Skiing its worth a watch.

Yeah love it, even though it makes me sad that we aren't going to get out to ski this year

Yes watching it. I should of been skiing twice this year by now so it’s making me miss it! Brilliant though! They have some bottle!

It does not show up well just how steep the course is.

Thoroughly enjoy Ski Sunday, have done since I was a nipper. Haven't seen the new Intro yet, missed it by a few seconds today. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks.

It's an iconic tune. Is it the same VT as last year's intro?

Also loved the live orchestral version they did a few years ago.

Watched the men's DH yesterday on Eurosport

The amount of air they were getting off the last jump to the finish line was awesome (as were the super slo-mo shots cresting the Mausfalle jump)

Looking forward to Wengen, now

We've skied the course a couple of times the day after the downhill and what shocked us was the piste - it's basically almost sheet ice not a nice groomed piste that you'd normally ski on.
Parts of it are incredible steep and these lunatics just straight line them when a normal human being is making lots of turns.
During the week before the race there are training days using the course but some of the racers are also out training on normal pistes and we came across a couple of the Italian team once - we are pretty reasonable skiers and they came past us as if we were standing still.

The slalom is similar - the tv doesn't really show you how steep the courses are and again they are ice with a bit of snow on top.

I've skied the Lauberhorn (Wengen downhill course) a few times over the years and taken as an intermediate it's a nice enough ski. Took me about 7 minutes cruising, maybe a couple of brief stops. Takes the racers about 2.5 minutes. Isn't it cancelled this year though?

Wengen was cancelled, they blamed a Brit for spreading Covid around the resort and forced it shut up.
