The Great Escapists (new Hammond prog)
Discussion
It’s a shame because it is so similar to a GT story line, “Here is a challenge, get off this island”, something we’ve seen CHM do many times, I think the story telling element of it kind of killed it a bit- and let’s be honest during the first lockdown the one thing that we all wished for For the grand tour specials to be bulk released

Agreed. I thought it might be that, or a kind of mythbusters type thing, but after 2 minutes it was obvious it was for kids.
Interestingly Mythbusters is on Prime, all seasons/episodes, used to really like that show back in the day.
It's not great
What's really annoying is that it could have been good. The premise (although contrived) is solid, and obviously the budget is there. I don't even mind Hammond as much as others do, quite like some of his engineering documentaries.
There was a similar programme a few years ago with a plane crashed in the desert, make a vehicle from the wreckage to escape, which was pretty good.
A wasted opportunity

Yeah, wasn't the program with Ant Middleton? A group of 4 or 5 had to make a boat/car/plane to get out of some survival situation. It was a good series, shame it wasn't continued.
