Love this film yet most others I've told to watch it didn't agree.

Happened to watch this the other week via my iTunes; first time in a few years and had forgotten how good it was. This along with The Big Short would be a good back-to-back pairing.

I like the scene when Demi Moore asks Zac Quinto what he does and he responds. When he is asked why he works there the response is brilliant and sums up why the whole business is so wrong. Great writing.

I must have been subject to some (very) subliminal advertising as I was thinking about this film earlier today (the scene where they’re on the roof discussing salaries). And then it was on.

Agree with the others - it’s an excellent film.

Indeed, a fantastic fillum. So much so that I've added another one from the same writer/director to my Netflix list: Triple frontier. He also did 'All is lost' with Robert Redford. That blew me away.

I would suggest watching this and Big Short closely, you will get a fabulous idea of how one thing helped another and the link between them, Big Short in particular helps break down into normal folk speak and some of the stuff going on, particularly the betting on stuff later on is astonishing.

And this Margin Call, is a great film as it shows the greed, the last parts when they have to sell everything regardless is exactly the kind of garbage these people did for decades and still do to this day.

Great film and great acting, loved the bit where Demi Moore (HR hatchet women) gets her dose of Karma.
I've watched this and the Big Short several times, gives a good insight into the greed and corruption of the banking industry.

I recall being in NY in September for my wife's birthday and walking past Lehmans. Seeing all the people coming out of the office with boxes, some of them in tears...Was only when got back to the hotel and switched on the TV did we realise...

Demi Moore's character is actually the Chief Risk Management Officer so in effect responsible for the mess they find themselves in.

It is implied a few times in the film that she had been informed multiple times (separately by Stanley Tucci's, Kevin Spacey and Simon Baker's characters) that this issue was looming.
