Watching this video on an abandoned scrapyard, I was doing reg checks as you do and realised a load of these abandoned cars no longer exist on the DVLA and show up as having been crushed when you do a vCheck on them. The Rover M674JOH for example is showing as having been cubed in 2014 but there it sits. Good watch nonetheless if you wanna see some obscure old stuff

The description says the site was being cleared to be sold so I'd suspect many of the reg plates might show they all met their demise on close dates. Guess it depends on when it was filmed; might be older footage uploaded only in 2019 perhaps.

Its easier if you think about it as the biggest fly tipping scandal in UK history. Obviously they took the money for scrappage and just left the toxic wreckage to stand as someone elses problem that will cost vast amounts to clear up.
I would hate on them more but I once went to a scrapyard for some parts and a helpful man went with me to the car and removed the part and insisted on no money.
Soon after I saw the site was sold for redevelopment but they had cleared the cars beforehand.
