Or the Mother of a celebrity.

Either way I’m so proud of my eldest who temporarily suspended their career, moved in with my parents to care for my dying Father, got caught up in Covid Lockdown, let me persuade them in to a job in care, was granted a sabbatical and will be on the BBC/Netflix at the end of this month.

You may not be ready for it but your kids are gonna love it. Maybe.

Jack is my eldest, Elliot has been part of my family for almost 15 years (me and his Mum are friends as are our children).

I don't know the first thing about makeup and even less about this show.

However I will pass it on to SWMBO as she is a fan of makeup artistry type things.

Good luck to Jack, to a less extent Elliot. I am sure you will be super proud

My daughters love this show, I will let them know and make sure they root for Jack (and Elliot).

Well this made me cry. My Dad would be extremely proud of Jack. Despite not allowing me to dye my hair and be a public disgrace. His attempts were somewhat futile.

Is anyone watching this? Loved episode three last week (I actually featured in this one as had a lot to do with work and an artist Jack and I cared for) and tonight’s episode four. Gutted at the result tonight as really liked the person who went but I think they have big things ahead so wish them all the luck and can’t wait to meet them.

Found this thread via search as was wondering if Glow Up had made it into the PH consciousness. I have to admit it as a guilty pleasure and have watched both of the first two series' and this one too. It's easily up there in the pantheon of Bake Off type shows and I'd highly recommend dropping any preconceptions and giving it a watch.

Gretchen, you should rightfully be proud. Have to admit I was backing Sophie up to now though!

woohoo Finally! Thank you. I know I’m in a minority on PH but I admit I had hoped there’d be more viewers than this thread has revealed.

A few of my female colleagues had their male partners saying they wouldn’t be watching but have been converted and glued since episode one. The creativity and skills are great to watch. I’m not saying the format of the show is perfect but it grows. I can’t stop using the word ‘conflab’ even though it grates on me hehe

I was actually on screen in episode three as it was me who encouraged Jack to take the job as carer as a career (break) after my Father died cry I was proud of Jack then, let alone now. Work have been very supportive and Tuesday night the residents were watching Glow Up in one of the lounges.

Jack has already made TV history with Glow Up being the first show to display pronouns and Jack using they/them. Instagram have just introduced this feature too.
Really hope big things come out of this for Jack as they deserve it. And Elliott too. I’ve known Elliott for over ten years as he and Jack are great friends (there’s a Metro article about this) Elliott is like my adopted child and his Mother and I are good friends living a few miles apart. It’s been nice to have someone to share this experience and pride with as we both raised them as single Mothers.

Thank you so so much for your support. Enjoy the rest of the series.

Glow Up will drop on Netflix in around 11 months too so fingers crossed for Jack once again when this goes global.
We went shopping yesterday and Jack wore a baseball cap and mask. It was only when I saw someone staring at a make up counter that it occurred to me they were ‘incognito’ hehe Best I’ve had was someone I’d not seen for decades shout across Aldi car park when they recognised me.

Lots of love smile

I watch it with my daughter and think it’s fantastic!

She is 12, huge into it and will often spend time after we’ve watched it in front of her mirror making her own make up videos.

Jack is fantastic and very talented!

Never heard of the show, but at least your daughter/son has not appeared on Naked Attraction.

How proud must a parent be to say, " did you see my Julie's gash on TV last night ? "

I'm pleased I watched that. Some amazing stuff. It wasn't quite what I was expecting; though I'm not quite sure what I was expecting. Best wishes to Jack and well done to him for looking after your father. Caring for elderly relatives is hard work.

Guilty pleasure in our household too - the talent and creativity of some of the contestants is astounding.

I'm guessing Jack is still buzzing after working with Rankin?

I think / hope Jack and Rankin will work together again. Great reference to have either way.

Have every faith good things will come as Jack has not only an awesome ‘bedside manner’ at (current care home) work but in their professional MUA capacity too.
