Thought this felt like a lot of scenes stitched together to make a film. Ray Winstone miscast. He can’t do accents. Tepid but entertaining enough. I’ve thought the Marvel TV output poor via Disney Plus so far. This is much better but I was hoping for more. Florence Pugh and David Harbour we’re good but Marvel need to up their game. Glad i saw at home and not at cinema but at least better than Captain Marvel.

I'd go as far as to say it's the worst Marvel film of the lot.

David Harbour & Florence Pugh were very good.

Ray Winstone and his cockney/Russian accent was terrible.

Not sure what Craig David was doing in there.

Plot could have been a lot better, decent action though.

End credit scene was the best bit.

Glad I watched it at home and moreso that I didn't pay for it.

I just finished watching it... and , well, meh, mainly!

Some good scenes in there with the disfunctional family reunion, but the rest of it was standard Marvel/Hollywood storyline stuff. Ray winstone, as much as I love the fella, is not a Russian baddy! smile

So all in all, enjoyable enough but not a patch on some of the other Marvel movies, just a too 'standard' action movie for me to be particularly engaged.

(P.S. I will forgive Ray Winstone everything he ever does for the one liner on "Would I lie to you?" when he as asked what he was supposedly doing on a trip in Berlin, and his response was... "Just keeping me eye on the Germans") biggrin

Very meh for me. I like marvel films but I'm not a fanatic so sometimes I miss the geeky stuff. But this just felt like filler. Almost like there was an actor with a contract for a film, so they threw together a reasonable story and shot it, but without really caring if it was good. Churn it out and send it.

They really should have put a Black Widow movie out before IW/ Endgame, like most of the other Avengers got.

They also really sold Black Widow short with Endgame, she definitely deserved a better conclusion to her character arc.

It looks like it has been filmed during Covid.
Very few actors in the same space. And you can tell many off camera resources not there either.

Some indecision if it was going to be a movie or TV series.

Budget clearly impacted given the financial environment.

Plot predictable...

But...

They made a decent fist of it.
A few genuine LOL moments. eg "Poseur" "St Petersburgh"

In a non covid world - it would have been a much better production.
But we live in the times we live.
Happy to have seen it - will watch it again.

Before you judge - take into account the circumstances it has been made in.

For me it’s a weak script and story. Do we want or need another, tedious non costumed villain? The director even showed us characters watching Moonraker- a nod to another weak franchise film with a villain based out of an exotic lair in the sky.
If they wanted to be noir and like a Bourne film with superhero tropes then do that. No comedy attempts as it doesn’t fit. If you want a 007 vibe then the lead actress needs room to breathe life into the character, at least a little. And there’s no excuse for wasting a villain like taskmaster in that way. Not pushing such a crap costume onto them.

It finished shooting in 2019.

Just not that good, which is a shame.
