I've watched most of the series. It was better than I expected. Queen Latifah is a pretty good actress. Lots of nods to the Edward Woodward version including her car being a Jaguar. Worst aspect is her daughter, a character that could be deleted to great benefit of the show as in most episodes she is nothing more than a distraction to the plot.

that's interesting - I was with the OP on the previews, I'll still watch it mind (I mean I enjoy New MacGyver

Denzel Washington appeared to be indestructible in the films so I found that rather daffy. Maybe this will be some sort of middle ground that gets it right.
Yeah I thought the original concept was that he equalised the odds against the bad guys...Denzil stacked them so far in the good guys favour that the result was a foregone conclusion.

I turned it on thinking it would be Denzel as quite enjoyed the films but then they announced Queen Latifah & I thought 'ok, I guess she's gonna a get a fair role in it' & then I looked at the info to see the Equaliser (I'll use the English spelling) is now called Robyn McCall. Ok enough to tune in next week but the thing that gets me the most is the diversification of every role ever played almost as a box ticking exercise. Middle aged white man becomes middle aged black man becomes middle aged black woman. Ghostbusters 4 (?) amongst others didn't work so we'll see how this one plays out. First one was ok so series link set. I still want the original funky electro pop music of the original though.
S'pose I can always turn to Forces TV to catch it.
