These are my guilty pleasures....
I mean Programmes like;
Shed & Buried
Junk & Disorderly
Find it, Fix it, Flog it
Restoration Workshop (Yesterday channel)
Salvage Hunters ( Although Drew can get a tad obnoxious)
Just relaxing to see how old junk / tat can be repurposed.
Not always successfully... but at leat they tried.
Not too much scripted ‘faffing’ about either.
The American ones are OK... but are too scripted & added drama etc.

I watch pretty much any of the British ones. I think you missed out Shed and Buried which was the forerunner to Junk and Disorderly and almost the same programme. Perhaps my fave is The Repair Shop. Some of the background stories can get a bit weepy though. I mean Programmes like;

What’s the UK one where the woman intercepts stuff going in the tip so that various creative hipsters can turn whatever it is into a horrible looking lamp? Unwatchable.
As above Repair Shop can be good but is sometimes a little bit too cosy for comfort. At least they don’t bang in about values and money for a change like everyone else.

Love Salvage Hunters, but more recently prefer the 'Restorers' series - some properly skillful people there (particularly the sculptor).You could do a good Salvge Hunters drinking game, whereby you drink every time Drew says 'authentic', 'naive', 'honest', 'it's just right' - and finish the glass whenever Tee cracks one of his awful jokes.

Thanks, Of course S&B, this was on the tip of my tongue this morning. ( updated)
The skip one OK... even I’m struggling with that one.
Repair shop... Ok, easy watching.
Some of the valuations though... pretty good returns.
Used to have a couple above us who up cycled stuff, looked good & made decent money too.
I’ve got an old bedside cabinet, must be nearly sixty years old.
There was one on ‘Fix it’ the other day.
Gemma painted it... looked good.

He could go on one of those fashion style programmes though.
( Might get a new jacket)?
Reminds me Royles..... betting 20p’s to see who can get closest to the valuation price on the Antique Roadshow.

The Repair Shop is more about ‘Sentimental Values’... which is nice. As above Repair Shop can be good but is sometimes a little bit too cosy for comfort. At least they don’t bang in about values and money for a change like everyone else.

On valuations - it does make me laugh a bit when they suggest that they've made about £500 on something when a very highly skilled person has clearly spent about a week repairing it. I think Salvage Hunters - The Restorers is worst for this.
Who probably charges £50 ph + costs.( I think that part, you have to take to the ‘tongue in cheek’ area).
And then the staff / marketing costs etc.
There again... Drew seems to be surviving.
He’s a bit more top end though isn’t he.

Ah: Wheeler Dealers. Telling us how much profit he’s made because apparently the mechanic worked eight hours a day for two weeks for free…Antony Moxey said:

( Have to try that one next time)
That’s why I like Bangers & Cash...seems quite normal & honest.

At least in some of the later ones they do actually mention the number of man hours taken, although obviously not costed. In the very early ones the intention was to show what a competent DiYer could do with a below par car. That is assuming they had a fully equipped workshop at the end of the garden
Ref the upcycling shows. How many has Henry Cole squeezed out of this concept ?
Shed and Buried
Find it, fix it, flog it
Find it, fix it, drive it
Junk and Disorderly

Looks like these are just the tip of the iceberg;Shed and Buried
Find it, fix it, flog it
Find it, fix it, drive it
Junk and Disorderly
As they say... “Where there’s muck, there’s brass”
https://www.henrycole.tv/about-henry
Could combine them... taking their ‘fix it’ items around the country to flog.
See what money they would really get.
( Gemma could be on it too... bit like Sarah from B&C)

The good thing about them though is the honesty when it comes to costs. They basically do things up on the cheap. Cole even has a phrase for it that I cant remember at the moment. And he really does seem to add minimum staff cost. His job is basically to rub things with a rag or wire wool. Randy Winkman said:

“SPQR”.... Small Profit, Quick Return.

Also, they all seem to work at ‘mates rates’.

I love Salvage Hunters and Salvage Hunters The Restorers. Particularly when they feature Craig the upholsterer, Alex the carpenter, or the blacksmith whose name escapes me.I mean Programmes like;

I know what you mean about Drew. Clever guy, knows his stuff, and I like the way he will pay Joe Public a decent amount for an item (in a kind of "it's not their fault they don't know what it's worth, they aren't professionals" attitude, but will be very hard with dealers (because they should know their stuff), but he does come over as a bit obnoxious and is a total weasel in his private life and was (maybe still is) banned from every pub in Conwy following goading the husband of a woman he had an affair with.
