Watched the second episode last night, it gets pretty dark and gruesome at times; shines a fascinating light though on a period when the world was just about to stumble into the 20th Century.

It looks a treat, high production values indeed, very violent, and very few likeable characters, but it's enjoyable apart from
the piglet incident.

It's said the Dreyfus case divided France, maybe in Paris, but one wonders if the farmer peasants in Lozere gave a
tinker's cuss about some disgraced army officer, they had more important things to worry about like
where the food was coming from to feed their 12 children.

Got to say I’m surprised more people haven’t given this a chance, as an antidote to stuff like Vigil, it seems to be getting better; the piglet survived this week!

Well, it concluded last night and I thought it was excellent, even if no one on here joined inlaugh A solid 8.5 Slaughtered piglets out of 10 from me. Got to disagree with rlw about it being bks, as it was based on actual events.
