Trying to find, on the app on a new-ish Sony Smart TV, e.g.

Grand Designs current series after 22/09/2021
Great British Bakeoff current series after episode 2
Great British Bakeoff extra slice current series episode 2 onwards

I can search and find the series, but they are truncated.
If I look in catchup then those evenings have programs up to say 5:30 pm and from 11:30 onwards.

Is this the same for everyone, or just me? Have I inadvertently hit a switch somewhere. It's almost as if I have stopped the system from updating in some way. Is this related to their fire and associated issues? Have signed out and signed back in again, would uninstalling/reinstalling the app make any difference?

Had to start recording stuff again to give some certainty, but at least I can dodge the ads.

Anyone else experiencing similar?

Channel 4 is in the middle of trying to recover from a massive outage in broadcast services.

Lots of stuff is broken and the channel is being run from a laptop in someone’s house.

I can understand legacy data having to be re-tagged and uploaded etc. But I would have thought that once the 'system' was up and running again that the process for uploading 'current' shows would restart unhindered, I obviously don't understand how complicated / time consuming it is.

It's okay. Neither do they.

I think a lot of that is due to what is / isn't considered acceptable (based on old news topics / jokes) to show any more from years gone by for worries about complaints. Lots of the early 8 Out of 10 Cats series, which is now syndicated with repeats on 4Music are no longer shown.

I was watching a, fairly recent from within the last 2 years, episode of Cats Does Countdown the other night to fill some time. It was being shown after 11pm, yet there were a few instances where i realised they'd edited out certain references / jokes from the first time i'd seen it on C4.

With regards to gaps in content, i've not noticed any issues but that's via the C4 / All4 online service and there the most recent episodes of things like Bake Off, Extra Slice, F1, etc, are generally available pretty quickly after first broadcast. I know things are still massively impacted due to the Red Bee Media fire suppression issue a couple of weeks back but one advantage of that, on the All4 service, is that it's effected the advert serving. Previously you'd be served with different online ads (during the breaks) but currently they're having to broadcast everything with the same ads that ran during the initial TV broadcast, so as a result that you can currently skip through all the adverts - which knocked a good 25 odd minutes off the re-run of the F1 last night.

Google "Channel 4 no subtitles" to see how far reaching the problem is. The lack of accessibility at the moment is causing huge problems for people. It's ridiculous in this day and age that there was no back up in place and it's taking so long to fix.

I did wonder if episodes were pulled for this reason. A shame really

We have exactly the same. Sony TV about 3ish years old. everything fine except the 4od app which exactly like yours has stopped updating certain programmes. Weirdly it seems to be any programme shown between 3pm and 10pm doesnt get added! Our workaround at the moment is to try and cast to the telly from the app on ipad or plug a laptop in via hdmi as the episode appear using the app on other devices. Very irritating as bake off and GD are the ones we watch the most!

It's the same on Sky Go. No new C4 content on their catchup service since the big outage the other week.

I've noticed the sound quality on Channel has become abysmal over the past couple of week, seems to be mono on both channels (looking at the equaliser) and 96kbps according to my amp wonder if its related?
