With the return of The Larkin’s... Aka The Darling Buds of May, I read that there are a lots of old style programmes in the pipeline.
See Bradley doing ‘Blankety Blank’.
Some have been tried over the last few years... with mixed results.
( Some are still going...in a revised form).

Used to enjoy The Golden Shot.
( Wonder If “Bernie the bolt” is available)

Can’t see ‘ The Sweeney’ coming back, but reckon with the right casting ‘Minder’ would work.
(Maybe... Bradley Walsh as ‘Arfer’ Daley & Danny Dyer as Terry)
Was going to say Ross Kemp, but he’s a bit old, so he can have Dave’s role @ the WinchesterClub.

Mixed results! Is there anything that has come back and been as good or better as it was before? I'm struggling to think of anything.

A bit like US remakes of TV shows or films from other countries. 99% of them are worse than the original.

Shows how good a lot of them were in the first place...
( or is the the proverbial ‘blinkers’)
Probably wouldn’t sit right with modern audiences.

Said the same the other day to my Mrs. Been rumours of it happening over the years to. Plenty of scope for storylines.

Quantum leap could good for a short rerun.

Rehashing the old stuff just shows a lack of imagination.

Some decent original TV, such as back to life, the end of the fking world, sex education, misfits, American horror, etc. This stuff should be where its at.

Perhaps with so many Channels now... try to find something that hasn’t been done before is getting more difficult.
Or yes... lack of imagination.

Yep... Ray Daley, ‘Arfer’s’ Nephew ( I think).
Gary Webster... looks like he married Anthea Turners sister.

It tends to be the original actors or presenters that make a shows successful, which is why remakes don't tend to work. Also many are of their time.

That’s exactly what my Dad said earlier... they will never be the same.

They did a film remake of that a few years back. I’ve seen it but can hardly remember anything about it which says it all really.
