Being the BBC I am amazed they didn't find a chimpanze that had self identified as a Gorilla! biggrin

I find the alpha-male rough stuff particularly annoying. Especially the seals and sea-lions. It seems to get so messy, bloody and hazardous for everyone involved. If I was a male seal, I'd just hang around the fringes, rolling my eyes and letting the bad-boys mangle each other. A bit of nookie is fun once in a while but it's really not worth all that agro.

I think that is what the weaker chimp did. Watched all the Alpha males fight it out then when they were not looking nipped off into the woods with the in heat female. Smart guy!!

I think that happened with Kangaroos as well in an earlier episode.

The saddest one for me was the Oryx who had been shagging non-stop for several days, He was so knackered he was easy prey for 3 cheetahs. biggrin
