A guilty pleasure. I have a soft spot for that era's fantasy films. This is probably one of the best, production values aside.

It wasn’t crap circa 1983 when I saw it at home on VHS. It was the Sword of Shannara and Lord of the Rings come to life. Hawk went on to play Jacks dad in Lost. I recognised him!!

Loved it as a kid back then, now, well I still love it, but for different reasons. It's bad, seriously bad.
It's 1980, so it must have ben the film that kicked off the fantasy genre of the 80's. Films before had been mythological films or sword and sandal stuff. I think this was the first live action high fantasy film.
