Invasion - Apple TV - with Sam Neil…anyone watching?
Discussion
Just finished the third episode. Bloody hell, what a chore that was.
Glacial pace, two dimensional characters and no plot. Literally nothing happens.
Odd because it’s clearly cost a fortune. Did it not occur to anyone that some brutal editing might be in order?
I’m going to cut my losses and bin this. A shame as I had high expectations for it going by other SF shows. For All Mankind is amazing and Foundation is back on track after a couple of duff episodes so I thought this would be of a similar standard. A pity…
ETA I didn’t know that New Scientist reviewed telly but they are bang on with this brutal review…

I don’t know if I’m overthinking things but I couldn’t avoid connecting the school boy having a seizure whilst listening to 24 hours by Joy division on his headphones in episode two and Ian Curtis’s health problems.
If it was an in joke it wasn’t a funny one.
Otherwise I’m quite enjoying the slow pace of it.I’ll have to as I have subscribed to Apple TV for a month now.

I actually didn't mind the slow pace of the first 3 episodes at all. Spent time with some characters, and the use of silence and background sound added a bit of mood to some of the scenes.
But then I realised there was only 10 episodes in total so I'm effectively 1/3 of the way through the season, and well, see what others have posted.....
Is it just me or have others had difficulty with the volume level of the spoken dialogue? I ended up leaving the subtitles on for the entirety of all 3 episodes.

Episode 4 and Jesus Christ it's slower than a tortoise with no legs.
Not an Alien, Alien Tech or hint of a feckin' Invasion to be seen.
4 hours!
This is just taking the p*ss now.
There was an alien but it was only onscreen for 1sec , I had to rewind it to check. Not an Alien, Alien Tech or hint of a feckin' Invasion to be seen.
