The other 3 commercial channels wouldn't touch this ceremony with a long stick, unless they could get JImmy Carr to compere, squeeze in a slot for Adele's latest warbling and maybe Diversity would tell the story of the Holocaust through the language of dance.

The whole thing is not about the names, the star turns, it's a simple coming together. Seeing the bereaved parents proved it was a bit dusty round here.
