Good Internet connection and hard wired to the Q box, but incredibly slow/failing downloads.

Doing my head in!

Do you have. A sound bar? I had a problem with sky pixellating and crashing.

Engineer arrived tested it and said cables need replaced, they were about 5 years since installation.

Seemed to cure problem then happened again two weeks later.

Called sky and service agent asked me to send photo of tv, turned out soundbar was causing the problem and interfering with signal. Soundbar removed and problem gone.

Yes, but it's not switched on. And this has only just happened. I've had the bar and the Q box for three years with no issues.

We've been having intermittent issues - something about remote server failure?

Me too, is bar near q box or main sky hub? Soundbar not on either, do not understand why it caused problem it just did

Lady who solved problem went into great detail of why, just went over me head

Yes. That's it.

A bit of googling would seem to indicate Sky know it's an issue. A workaround, but not perfect, is to manually change the DNS on your broadband connection on the Sky box to 1.1.1.1. Sky say not to do that, but it worked for me last night.

I have been having the same issues myself. Sometimes I can download the programme very easily. Other times it takes me several attempts or doesn't even download it at all. Been like that for a week now.

Another workaround is to use SkyGo and download to sky box from there.
I did the DNS change and haven’t had a problem since.

I thought it was just our Internet playing up until I noticed the remote network message, so good (sort of!) to hear it's a problem their end.

The workaround was ok for about a week for us. Now intermittent. Massive thread over on the sky forum's about it.

Mildly annoying!

My issues appear to be resolved. The last three programmes I have downloaded have all started first time.
