Box Office 2022

Spider-Man has been a crazy win for cinema coming out of the pandemic, 4th in the US domestic market and most likely 8th in the worldwide market just behind the Lion King remake. Only film to get over 1 billion dollars when some talking heads thought we may be a few years away from it.
I reckon this year might see a few colossal hits like Spider-Man hit, sucking up all the air and the rest take crumbs at the bottom, rather than a more even spread pre-2021, for the first half anyway.
Really interested in how The Batman does, it being it's own thing like Joker, rather than connected to the sinking larger DC universe. If it's a good film I can see it doing well, though I'm not sure what that means moneywise.

I can really only think of Avatar 2 as anything that is going to get close to massive records like that. What else is on the horizon?
Dr Strange / Thor 4 - neither of the previous ones have broken a Billion.
Batman - Joke broke a bil and this does look very good, but Im sure much will depend on how good the film actually is vs how good the trailers look.
Top Gun 2 - will wash its face, but wont be breaking any records.

Forgot all about Avatar2....I can't see it getting the money of the first one, maybe half? From preview screenings, Doc strange need a fair bit of rewriting and reshoots...oopsy. I also think Thor might underperform, it depends on what's in the story.Dr Strange / Thor 4 - neither of the previous ones have broken a Billion.

I agree about the quality of the film with regards to Batman, I'm hoping it's good. But I don't know if people are ether fed up with multiple Batman or desperate for a good one.
Wash it's face, great saying!

Well I didn't think Spider-Man would get past Black Panther's US take at 700, and I thought getting past Avatar was fantasy, but it did it. Avatar has been re-released several times too, to top up it's take.
Only film this year that gets close I reckon is Doc Strange, though I reckon it'll still be under 1 billion.
