I quite like the Ed Stafford programmes so I'll probably record it.

The last 60 days he did with the homeless was interesting so hopefully this one will be decent too.

Why do I get the impression that this will be a sanitised picture (albeit still a car cradh)?

Absolutely, it will be turned around so that they are the victims and they just want to live a peaceful life and not bother anyone.

I would like there to be an accepted collective noun for the group of persistent law breaking individuals who live in caravans, to differentiate them from travellers.

In every thread, people mis-use the term “travellers” to describe the former group and the conversation devolves from there, instead of addressing the real issues of caravan-dwelling criminal gangs.

How do you think its going to go?

* It's on C4.
* The promo voiceover makes it pretty clear what the slant will be, all while showing innocent tinkers getting up to the usual.
* Direct quote from the presenter "I was naive. All I knew about gypsies was negative or hearsay. Like a lot of people, I had prejudices, but it is so difficult to live as a nomadic person in the UK."

It's probably the same old whitewash of a poor misunderstood community being unfairly maligned for all those things they absolutely never do, and it's all your fault.

Ed is the ideal man for the job. He also leaves a trail of destruction on his travels.
He's hard enough to live in a shed for 20 years doing hard labour for £20 a month as well.
Covid must have curtailed his orgy of international hoboing so here we are.

Seems he has filmed with the group local to me. To be 100% honest the old couple he has met with are no trouble apart from the barking dog and generator that is on 24/7

However, it's the 30 odd other caravans that turn up over the year causing total chaos. Our local town was shut down for 2 days a couple of years ago due to totally mental behaviour.

I don't even need to watch the show to know that won't be mentioned or the donkey racing in the streets or the drug taking by kids, massive fires of burning rubbish in car parks, shops being looted etc etc.

Sounds interesting.

I like Ed and hopefully this programme will help eradicate many of the lazy stereotypes and unwarranted bigotry that many Travellers face.

“But your outrage is mistaken, Sir - we are not using the term pejoratively towards travellers, but unrelated as a collective noun to describe a entirely different group of people”

They wont go to McD’s, they’ll just do it behind a bush, so you are alright with your IBS.

Not showing how much mess they leave either.

They will just do it in the high street during the rush hour. They don't care.

Looking forward to watching it. I've always wondered how they get out of the car to take the pictures without getting their feet wet.

Channel 4 love the Gypsy theme shows.

It's very sympathetic towards them and doesn't seem to show the unpleasant things they get up to.

I've personally seen the destruction left by the matlock group.

I've seen the destruction when they have broken into pub campsites and smashed though walls. Threatening old folks with violence.

That fire just now is nothing. They have set massive fires burning tyres and piles of rubbish.

The old lady is moved and 40 caravans follow.
