Surely this is wrong. It's the winter of 1962.

Spring of 1962 began in March 1962, then summer of 1962, then autumn of 1962 and then . . .

Is it just another example of dumbing-down? What does anyone else think?

December 1962 is winter, and then January and February 1963 complete the season. Hence two-thirds of the winter are in 1963.

The Big Freeze started just after Christmas 1962. It was bloody cold. The school never closed and I went, every day, in shorts. Big long slides in the playground. Evenings were spent sledging on frozen streets and weekends in the fields.

I understand that but the sequence can't go "summer 62", "autumn 62", "winter 63", "spring 63", "summer 63", etc etc.
