Bauer Media - We're Improving The Way You Listen... Really?

We're not big TV watchers but listen to the radio a lot, Mrs loves Greatest Hits Radio and for years we've streamed it via vTuner on Denon AVR without issue. Bauer then "improve the way you listen" discontinuing 3rd party streaming, options are now..
FM
Can get a signal in the car but its not our local region and even with a decent indoor antenna we cant pick it up on the AVR as the house seems to be blocking all but the strongest local stations.
DAB
Is our local region at least, AVR doesn't have a DAB tuner and its quite expensive to add one. Borrowed a portable from a friend and predictably no signal anyway.
App
Find an old tablet in a drawer and try to install the app but the app is not compatible with older versions of Android, no idea why as all it has to do it stream audio.
Browser
Install Firefox on the tablet and try to stream via the stations webpage, tap the stream button and get a "we notice your on mobile" popup and redirected to the app store to download an app that wont install....
Anyway, after getting Firefox to request the desktop version of the page we can finally listen, or could up until today where you now have to create an account and login to stream via the website.
Excuse the ran but how hard can it be to just listen to a radio station!?!?
I'm tempted not to bother with creating an account as there are zillions of stations that are still on vTuner but it keeps the Mrs happy so as needs must.
