It has been announced that the school drama Waterloo Road is to return to the Beeb for an eleventh series, starting this year (although we're not told precisely when) to replace the now cancelled Holby City. It will be set, and filmed, in Manchester.
Angela Griffin has already confirmed she will be returning as Kim Campbell who will now be head teacher. Two other returnees are Donte and Chlo Charles, I suppose their kids will be at the school by now. Anyone expecting to see other old favourites again will be disappointed as those seem to be the only ones. Many of the new cast members are former soap 'actors' so I have not high hopes.
(Mind you, WR was always more than a little 'soapy' in places before wasn't it?)
