Starting tonight at 9pm on BBC1. Story is about a corrupt detective and her drug baron boss. 5x1 hour episodes over the next 5 weeks.
Will watch the 1st episode and take it from there....

All feels incredibly far fetched so far!

Without spoilers, she seems very openly bent and everyone seems to know?

Agree. Very watchable though.

Hmmmm….

That was hard work. Not sure I’ll stay the course.

Let’s hope her body camera she was wearing in the flat never gets watched…

We’ve just finished E1 and agreed it’s certainly not a ‘must watch’ or one we would eagerly recommend but looking forward to E2 and seeing how this all plays out… which is a bit of a contradiction to statement one I agree.

We watched about 2/3 of episode 1. We then switched off. Implausible in various ways, over-stylised in places and the dialogue seemed unnatural, but stilted.

Life's too short.

"Better?"

"Not as good"

Just finished it. It did get, er, better but laughably implausible. Still enjoyed it more than Gold though.

I didn't realise that this can be binge watched via iPlayer! Might just 'get it over with' this weekend.... smile

You want "laughably implausible"?

Look no further than 'CSI:Vegas' and 'The Rookie:Feds' for laughably implausible. They're well on the way to making 'The Equalizer' look like a documentary training film...

As for 'Better'? I quite enjoyed it. The "heavies in a Range Rover" theme was overplayed, but there was plenty in the writing to keep me engaged, with a decent enough cast.

I personally wouldn't waste any more time watching something that isn't very good.

An armed police protection officer from the Met going around flashing and murdering a young woman on her way home is laughably implausible, but it did happen.

I thought that both The Gold and this from the BBC were pretty good and a significant improvement over stuff like the Split, Control Room etc.

Finished watching it all last night. Didn't think it was too bad at all to be honest. Bit far fetched in places but easily watchable.

Grumps.

I did notice Charley Webb (aka Emmerdale's Debbie Dingle) at the Drug Barons party in episode 1!

Apparently they were going to make CSI:Castleford but pulled the plug when they realised how difficult it would be when the entire cast shared the same DNA
