This is 1 hour long but an absolutely incredible story. An interview with Pasquale Buzzelli, the man who inadvertently 'surfed' a slab of concrete from the 22nd floor of the World Trade Centre to the ground when the tower collapsed, and was one of the very few survivors.

Well worth watching.

I remember seeing a program about this guy and they questioned a lot of his claims.

I think he's proven that he was in the towers when it collapsed and he survived the fall relatively unscathed, but the whole "surfing a concrete slab to the bottom" bit has been disputed. He was with another survivor who claimed they were on the 13th floor rather than the 22nd (still a miracle they survived from the 13th).

In the documentary he makes it very clear that he was simply curled up in a ball in a stairwell trying to protect himself, and had no idea what was happening as he fell, and was then knocked unconscious for an hour or so. The 'surfing' bit has clearly been made up by the media, or more specially, The New York Times, and the term has stuck.

When you watch the full video, he comes across as an incredibly humble guy who is just incredibly grateful to be alive, and still cannot believe what happened to him. I've read other articles about him where he shuns the whole '9/11 surfer' monicker and he really doesn't want that kind of publicity.
