Netflix Crackdown

I think I pay £16 a month.
It's from when I lived in the house. They still have it and I use it here in the flat, as does my daughter up North.
So do I have to stump up another fiver?
If so, I'm out!
Think that’s different as you have a family account with different log ins etc? It's from when I lived in the house. They still have it and I use it here in the flat, as does my daughter up North.

Seems like they’re cracking down on one account being shared with others and used in different locations?
Don't they just look at the number of devices per account and then only ask for verification when the plan you are on is exceeded in this regard?
I'm allowed 4 devices and haven't received any verification message so maybe that's simply because my account only has 3 devices on it.
If it showed 5 there would be a message to deal with, I expect.

I cancelled it immediately upon them announcing they were doing it in the UK.
My sister was sharing with us, I rarely use it, mainly because they have next to no decent content since the streaming market fragmented.
If they had a sensible plan where I could have 4K content, just in one place at a time, for sensible money, then I'd probably have just changed my subscription, but paying the top tier price, and not being able to share it with 1 member of my family - I'll just not bother, and I certainly won't miss it.

No, that isn't what they are doing at all. There are plenty of explanations out there, just google it.I'm allowed 4 devices and haven't received any verification message so maybe that's simply because my account only has 3 devices on it.

I pay my Netflix via my Sky Q bill which they call "Ultimate TV Add on". Its a bit weird as I pay £7pm for that (no discount applied) but have the full Netflix Sub with 4K which is £16pm so who knows. The sister in law shares our account but she is fairly local so hopefully doesnt trigger their checks.

If all the devices are under the same internet connection in the same household, then its not a problem. (or you're using a VPN)I'm allowed 4 devices and haven't received any verification message so maybe that's simply because my account only has 3 devices on it.

Ugo, so I pay £16 and they want me to stump up another tenner to include myself and my daughter.
They can fek right off!
You're not the only one. They can fek right off!
We had an email yesterday morning saying this was being implemented; evening arrives and the 'confirm your household' screen popped up.
As others haven't had it yet, maybe it will be a slow rollout. I did spot on the reddit forums lots of unhappy people in the last day or so and i expect there will be either quite a few threads of PH or this thread will become very busy in upcoming days/weeks.
What about people from the same family watching on their phones via 4g when out on a train or as a passenger in a car?
Then how is that differentiated from popping round to a mates and casting to their telly?
I hope Netflix lose a lot more on this then they were hoping to make.
Seems since everything started skyrocketing in price, everyone and his dog are trying to fleece everyone else.

I thought that this is ok as long as the account is used from the main addresses internet connection every few months to prove that you are at the address. Then how is that differentiated from popping round to a mates and casting to their telly?

Ah! so I can pop over to the ex marital home and log on from the street once in a while then
Not so easy for my daughter as she's 200 miles away.
