On BBC and iPlayer now.

What a load of pump. I'm glad I'd recorded the first and second episodes. The 'story' (if there is one) was at the pace of a slug and even watching most of it at 3 x FF I'd worked out that nothing really happened in Ep1. I tried Ep2 but lasted 10mins and switched it off.

Most (if not all) of the acting was dire.

Managed about 20 mins of the first episode. I was wondering if they were improvising as the dialogue seemed so strange.

The main guy, Michael Socha, is a great actor, but the rest were shocking. I know Shane Meadows likes actors to improvise, but they aren't good enough to pull it off.

Grrrr.
Why in threads like this one, do the ppl talking about the show never bother telling the rest of us what the bloody show is about?! I don’t need to know whether you think it’s good or not, that’s subjective to each of us, but knowing what the damn thing is about helps!

Guy Ritchie watched 6,500 tapes from unrepresented actors when casting.

It's always good to see Fine Time Fontayne. biggrin

I'm hoping the actual story will carry this, but after 1 of 3 episodes it hasn't even started yet...

Why would we? We already know what it's about hehe

Put simply: it's a drama set in the 1700s as the industrial revolution kills off the jobs of the people from a small village.

It's all over the place though. It can't be called a period drama because the people talk in modern tongue, calling each other 'bro' and whatnot. It's a bit of a mess really.

It's a true story, if that helps.
