The sixth commandment

Not normally my thing - I loathe most crime stuff, true crime even more so. But the lure of the brilliant Timothy Spall was too much , and I succumbed. God above, but it was good - riveting in fact. Spall was as good as I have ever seen him and Anne Reid gave another masterclass. I have to hold my nose when telly is made out of a tragedy like this , as it feels exploitative , especially when the events are recent. But like David Tennant's portrayal of Dennis Nilsen - to which I also succumbed - the acting was sublime .

A young man , posing very plausibly as a fervent Christian in a bucolic setting near Stowe School inveigles his way into the lives of two smart but emotionally vulnerable older people. Bad stuff happens .That is your lot mate . Just watch it - you will thank me .
Good summary. Plus, if watching it is too much trouble there is plenty on the true story via Google!I think it is excellent and acting is superb. The actor playing the young guy is brilliantly creepy!!

2 episodes in and yes it is very well acted. Compelling viewing . Ben Field is one horrendously evil individual.
Agreed. I think it is his creepyness which makes him so evil. The hyprocasy of his christian beliefs whilst plotting to murder people is a difficult watch.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
