Attenborough had a brilliant narrating voice. Packham doesn't. I don't think I could listen to him for an hour, or whatever it is.
That was my view, I've previously found him opinionated and irritating, however when reading a script it's definitely better. Try it and see...Really enjoyed the first episode but only managed to make half of the second one,
Great filming but the second programme was just too samey to the first. Far better to do one show that touches on the various events of note.
Edited to add, I did enjoy Chris as the presenter though.

I can’t listen to him for more than a couple of minutes. That soft ‘r’ thing he has annoys the hell out of me.Terminator X said:
Global warming doom and gloom wrapped up in very good cinematography.
TX.
Yes, I gave up on the BBC's force feeding of this via the Blessed Attenboring years ago, TX.
I suspect Packham will carry the GW torch forward to a new generation till everyone forgets
it's a unproven theory. [ I say steady on ]
Not that keen on him but bits were ok in the 1st ep. Whats funny is he pretty much says the planet decides if its habitable or not.
Then he says but we dont want to feel responsible if we put a slight stain on it lol.
My take on it is there is a pretty much never ending suppy of fossil fuel down there. We have only scratched the surface.
Naturally the energy companies dont want you to think that as you would wonder why they charge so much.
So we have this global warming industry...

We'll be over in the blink of an eye. It's about adapting to the changing conditions and keeping it survivable for as long as possible.,Then he says but we dont want to feel responsible if we put a slight stain on it lol.

If reducing fossil fuel use is part of the strategy then bring it on.
