Loved that as a kid. And strangely I was looking for old episodes after seeing one on YouTube the other day. I for one will be recording this.

I seem to remember that being on at 12:30pm after Rainbow. The 12:30pm slot was also filled with Farmhouse Kitchen and Painting with Nancy, if my memory serves me right.

Used to love Jack Hargreaves in Old Country, puffing away on his pipe as he explained some countryside tradition.

Also used to like watching anything with Phil Drabble and Robin Page.

I remember those, and 'The Amazing Kreskin' was shown in that slot in our region.

Also remember Jack Hargreaves on 'How' with Fred Dinenage.

I remember Jack Hargreaves' programme, I also remember my late father (who had worked on a farm for several years) shouting at the TV when JH bemoaned the introduction of agricultural machinery,

"people broke their backs working on the land, you bloody old fool"

Fair dues to Talking Pictures in being able to hunt out & re-show these long forgotten (from the mainstream TV Schedules at least) TV shows. "Manhunt" & "The Gold Robbers" being 2 recent notable examples.

However, they have had to pull the plug on at least a couple of 70's TV programmes such as "Crown Court" which I understand, due to v. poor audience figures didnt even pay the licensing fee it cost TPTV to aquire from which ever media source now owns the licensing rights.

TPTV are also good at locating some long-forgotten films that for some reason are never featured in the mainstream TV schedules, such as "The Reckoning" (Nicol Williamson), "The Offence" (Sean Connery) & even "Les Bicyclettes de Belsize".

"Yesterday" just seems to be wall to wall "Bangers & Cash" or "Nazi" or Hitler this & that & other channels only seem to mainly offer continual re-runs of "The Professionals", "Sweeney" , "Minder" et al, which I imagine a lot of folk are tired of seeing every week?

He did a number of series more or lesson the same theme. I seem to remember one called "Country Boy".

I have a fantasy of doing a You Tube series on model building based in my shed with me smoking a pipe - inspired by Jasck Hargreaves, of course.

Yes I remember Out of Town well.
In a similar way to you, I remember older people reminiscing about the widespread introduction and availability of tractors, reapers / combines, etc. They were delighted...
