I’ve always loved Only Connect and VCM. But increasingly her comments are riling me. Last night it was the statement she’d never had a full time job (brave to admit the privilege) then a dig a lottery players (we’re not all professionals gamblers Vicki and your opinion in irrelevant). But the comment(s)that really stuck was last season where she was having a go at ‘terrible anti-semite’ Roal Dahl. They had no place in the show, they were an over simplification of the subject and frankly they’ve dated badly this past year. Please stick to the intellectually vigorous quiz and leave the bks out.

How have her comments dated badly ?

My understanding of the Roal Dahl controversy was that it was a combination of old fashioned (but common at the time ) views and the semi-demented ramblings of a very old man. Some of the comments were to do with how quickly the people of Israel turned from victims to over-aggressive bullies. It might have been an objectionable and biased comment at the time but ultimately became a very popular opinion.
But mainly absolutely irrelevant on a light hearted quiz show.

For the first tie ever, my wife and I beat the two teams on the show. After last week where we came as far away from the teams as anyone could imagine!

You are not alone, we're by no means a pair of dummies, but most weeks we look at each other after the answer is given and say 'how the fk did they know that'
