Anyone catch this ? Baby swap drama, based on the JP Delaney book (also wrote the one about the smart house/creepy landlord that was on BBC a few years back)

Reviews haven’t been kind, and a bit of suspension of disbelief needed. Still, I found it very watchable and all the main actors played their part convincingly

Does make you look at your children and think, what if

Thought it was better than the reviews had suggested.

Quite enjoyed it overall.

Two episodes in, I wanted to smash Miles' smarmy face in, which I guess is the sign of a good actor.

He is the textbook Powerfully Built Company Director of PH fame but massively lets himself down by having a Range Rover without a private plate.

Schoolboy error from the production team there hehe

I know you sometimes have to suspend your disbelief when watching drama, but the likelihood of couple A being given couple B's home address and just turning up unannounced and becoming immediately chummy is completely and utterly preposterous.

I'm also 2 episodes in and I'm enjoying it so far and plan to watch the final 2 episodes later tonight.

I'll agree with the external reviews then, it was painful, especially the last two episodes.

I think in the same situation I would have had no contact whatsover except via lawyers the minute they dropped the lawsuit

also wouldn't the police have arrested him as soon as the CBD gummy video came out?

We really enjoyed it and thought the acting was great.
I’ll admit the ending was a bit naff though!

I can't see past James Norton being the sinister, evil character in Happy Valley.

Watched the final two episodes last night.

Overall we enjoyed it despite the massive implausibility of some of the plot. That said, lots of dramas bend real life because it makes for better telly.

I haven't watched anything in a long time which angered me quite so much. I really wanted to reach into the TV and punch that tt Miles repeatedly in the face. So, on the basis that it engaged me like that, you have to credit the acting of James McArdle playing such an absolute wker so very well

He was excellent in McMafia - excellent series worth tracking down on iPlayer if you haven't seen it.

I agree with your spoiler - my wife was getting visibly angry at him and we had to pause a few times. I'd pretty much guessed how it was going to turn out pretty early on and like most ITV dramas, the characters behave in incredibly unrealistic and stupid ways. Quite frankly by halfway through I'd lost sympathy with the "nice" couple due to their relentless naivity. I laughed out loud at Miles just turning up on their doorstep -- who "just" gave him their name / address? I guess in TV land hospitals / child protection / etc. just give out peoples names and addresses of people and let them get on with it with no supervision. Also, in that situation for most normal people that would surely just mark him out as an utter psychopath and I'd have been getting the most expensive legal team I could afford on the case at that point xD

Overall, as you, we kinda enjoyed it but it was hugely ridiculous.

Didn't watch it myself - just not my bag but Mrs E did (it's definitely her thing). Her view....interesting, implausible plot and a bit too constructed - whatever that all means.

Watched it all, most used line was 'I'm Sorry' said to his wife in practically every scene, have to suspend belief when watching made for TV dramas, the hospital investigation was completely unbelievable in any form, what happened to the nurse that was suspended, what happened to Mile's mum who travelled 500 miles to turn up at the court hearing, biggest plot line hole was the easy tracking of location from the phone calls? I also assume wrongly there are no uniformed Police in that part of Cornwall. James Norton in McMafia was a far better watch!

Gave it up after one episode, but would have after twenty minutes. If it's not grabbing me in the first episode, I'm out.

Far to many inconsistencies from the off! and your new "friend" can just rock up round your house. I don't think so.

The Irish actress was very good in this. You could see the anguish in her face, you could feel her pain without her even needing to say anything.

Yes, she is very good in everything she's in.
