I’ve never got into either of these and feel I’m possibly missing out.

Any advice / recommendations

Oddly the 2 you mention don’t appeal to me, even though people rave about schitts creek( I live in Canada!)

Something with a similar randomness of IASIP but setup like a faux documentary is Trailer Park Boys. (Netflix)

I wasn’t sure at first, but stuck at it, binged the lot and really enjoyed it.

I loved Good Place until it went a bit weird.
A similar dramcom was launched where when you die your consciousness is uploaded to a heaven type place - can’t remember the name

It was called upload! The premise was ok, but it wasn’t great to watch, I gave up after the 2nd series, apparently there are 2 more .

It's Always Sunny, is pretty good.

You could try 'New Girl' That's not a bad show either.

Agreed. It doesn't really take off until season two though.

Definitely agree with this. I tried to get my wife to watch it for years and she hated it every time. Then, in a last ditch attempt, I looked up a ranking of the best episodes. One of them was "The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis". She watched it, she enjoyed it and we ended up binging the rest of it.

Schitts Creek is also superb. Another one I've been recommending to some friends is Upper Middle Bogan. There is only 3 series and not many episodes so doesn't take long to get through. It has one of the best matching of cars to characters I've ever seen in a comedy series.

Loved the good place - worth going back in time a bit and binging Ricky gervais’ ‘Extras’ from time to time .

Yes it takes a while for their characters to develop. Even season 2 is really only the beginning.

I'd definately recommend seeing one of the later episodes as a taster. You just have to pick one that doesn't need you to know much about the many character flaws they each have, or any of the reoccurring stories and characters.

I think "Reynolds vs. Reynolds: The Cereal Defense" is a good one.

Brilliant series and easy to watch. It does unfortunately end a bit suddenly as it was never renewed (wasn't actually cancelled) and Simu Liu is a bit busy now (as is Apa) but well worth a go.

Schitts Creek is a stone cold classic and endlessly rewatchable/quotable. Perfect run as well with each season as good as the last and a wonderful conclusion. Love it.

Ditto Parks and Recreation; really good from S2 onwards.
