Well, that was better than I expected. I didn't know any of the contestants but the new kitchen, presenter and format caught my attention.

JT was as good as ever - why did they sack him? - and Grace Dent was a breath of fresh air.

Looking forward to tonight's episode now.

Yeah it was an enjoyable episode, right person went.
JT seems to have taken on Gregs persona with some odd voices and a bit more enthusiatic, he always used to play the serious guy.
Zero idea of who the 'celebs' were though (vageuly recognised the girl from Coro), we wondered if Masterchef was/is a bit tainted and celebs have distanced themselves a bit ? To me, it would be something they would quite like to be on otherwise.

Really enjoying this series, John and Grace are settling in nicely and there is some surprisingly good cooking going on!

I cant' see how it can be tainted, I can imagine it's like Strictly Come Dancing in that it's a big investment in time.

Race Across The World is a it little different, not many would fancy the idea of weeks away travelling, sleeping on buses or in hostels etc.

Surprised this has been such a quiet thread, never known it to be like this.

This week's contestants have been brilliant, some good cookery, but they're all really good fun and some properly good rivalry and a bit of banter.

Yes definitely a quiet thread this year.

We prefer the studio- rather than location-based tasks but it’s been a fun group. Even the drag act was thankfully toned down last night, I think he’d been ill (hence missing the medieval task) and muttered about just wanting to go to bed after the pie task.

I’ve warmed to nearly all of them and John and Grace seem to work well together, shame that ship has now sailed…

Surprised at that, thought Dawn had been head and shoulders above the rest the whole series.

Likewise, I thought Dawn had it in the bag.

I thought Alan Wyn had it. Anyway, I liked them all and probably the best Celebrity version ever. I’m gutted about JT, won’t be the same without him and his partnership with Grace was great.

Wha a great series. Going to miss John he was great with grace.

Any of the 3 deserved to win it. A great bunch throughout.

Just watched the final on iplayer.
We were convinced that Alun wyn had it, amazing dishes.
All were good but thought Alun just pipped Ginger with Dawn a very close third.

Excellent series though.
Going to miss John, Grace is very good though.

Think John was just being made a scapegoat.

Didn’t agree with the winner. Alan and Dawn have consistently been good throughout.

Surprised at a couple of comments here saying Alun should have got it. I liked the look of his food for sure, but steak and chips shows very little ambition (John said that). He played it safe - and you cant really do that in a final.

Ginger and Dawn had some very intricate, difficult dishes. Either could have gone very wrong, but they showed ambition.

Good finalists though, but a shame that Alfie didn't make it through.

Like some others though, I thought Dawn was going to easily win this.
