This was filmed at the back of my garden, met all of the "miniaturist's" and the crew with my miniature dog. Lovely bunch. Hadn't a clue how talented they all were.

is it actually a real workshop that was already producing miniatures?

or is it a fabrication created specifically for the program?

Why the negativity?

Really enjoying this - interesting personal back stories, lots of information about the original buildings, and some incredible model-making.
I believe only eight (30 minute) episodes in this first run, but hopefully many more to come.

err, there was none.

it was a serious straight question to the previous poster who claimed to know and have met the production team.

I was genuinely interested in whether there was actually a shop that existed that the programmakers had decided to build something around.

or whether it was a fictitious creation of a shop in order to support the program concept.

Sounds like it's in the mould of "The Repair Shop" - which I always enjoy so will give this one a look too.

I expect it's a "fake" workshop similar to the one used in The Repair Shop but that doesn't matter a jot. I bet Jack Hargreaves' shed wasn't real either smile

The Repair Shop is at the Weald and Download Open Air Museum in Sussex. I visited the museum with my dad a couple of years ago and stumbled across the filming site in one corner, cordoned off. It was dressed to film a Christmas special (this was in the summer!).

According to my tv guide it is done by various model makers and filmed in a homewares shop in Shere, Surrey
