As this has popped up on a couple of other threads now, I thought I'd start a dedicated one. Episode 1 (of 5 I believe) was on U & Yesterday last night, although I believe any modern types can stream the whole series now.

I have been watching Dom's Youtube channel for a while and the tv show seems to be more of the same, although with a bit of local interest thrown in for good measure. His move down to Cornwall has lost Honest John content, but he has been replaced by the excellent Sam Lovegrove. Looking forward to the rest of the series, with hopefully more to follow.

I was wondering about the mini traveler in the background at one point. A future project maybe, as if he hasn't got enough.

He’s got room for them all now!

Doesn’t look as if the sawing-an-engine-in-half project is going anywhere near Goodwood for a while. The Bracket Factory has made rather better progress on a similar project.

As for the Porker scratchchin

I enjoyed the first programme. Just a mix of the sorts of things we've seen before in different programmes but Dom and Sam are nice guys and it was good to see Sam knocking dents out the Land Rover wing. Perhaps I'm easily pleased. smile There's no way I'd go near that rock crusher without eye protection though.

We binge watched all five episodes yesterday and really enjoyed them. There's some overlap with Dom's YouTube channel but plenty of new projects too; last year must have been a very busy one for him. Good to see his wife involved too.

I'm trying not to binge watch them, as there is little enough to watch on tv in the evening as it is. He did mention on Youtube a few times that a bit more of the projects would be shown on the tv show, which is fair enough. I did wonder if he was married, with all the projects he seems to bring home with him. Also, I'm sure it was the editing, but it did seem on his Youtube channel that there was more work going on sorting the workshop than getting the house done. Not sure my wife would have been so tolerant laugh

I wouldn't have binge watched it but my O/H is recuperating after a stay in hospital so she's getting the VIP treatment for a while, i.e. she can watch whatever she likes for a (short) while.

Having renovated a farmhouse, I'd like to see more on the house makeover.

Uncomfortable re the spring replacement, all the body weight just supported by a jack, and what's with bare aluminium body in a costal environment?

Health and Safety would have a field day in that workshop. He injured his hand badly a couple of videos ago when he got his glove caught in a drill.

I'd be less worried about the bodywork on the Defender than the chassis being in a coastal environment tbf.

Quite liked it but it seems like it needs better script writers to stitch everything together. Eg how did he suddenly meet someone who needs a bung for seawater pool making etc. also how he suddenly found a new friend (this Sam Lovegrove guy who is apparently already in on other social media stuff?). It s a bit fake.

Also as episode one should have maybe talked about the property more and so on

Didn't I see axle stands? I'd be surprised if the aluminium is left bare.

I have seen it a few times on Land Rovers, either polished to a shine or left for the patina look.
